Claire Kim - Acupuncturist
A wellness way finder, Claire Kim is a Virginia, Maryland, and New Jersey board-licensed acupuncturist certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She received her and Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Boston College.
Claire completed her pre-med track in college to pursue her life-long dream of becoming a doctor, but her life took a turning point when she met Dr. Young Cheong, a renowned Sa-Am acupuncture practitioner with over 30 years of clinical experience. Dr. Cheong chose Claire to become his protégé before he moved permanently overseas to help the underprivileged in third world countries. For three years, she trained directly under Dr. Cheong to carry on his practice and industry know-how. Claire also remains an active member of Good Neighbor Acupuncturists, an organization founded by Dr. Cheong. While in school, Claire further honed and refined her skills under the mentorship of Dr. Choo, who is the President of Association of International Sa-Am Acupuncture.
Claire is genuinely interested in helping each patient create a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Devoted to this craft, she seeks the most up-to-date treatment techniques and blends them into her own style of practice, utilizing all different styles of treatment, including TCM practice, Korean practice, integrative approaches, to modern biomedicine/technology. Claire is also well-experienced with various other forms of Oriental medicine, such as cupping, gua-sha, tui-na, and Chinese herbs.
Most importantly, Claire strongly advocates a holistic approach to medicine. Her practice goes beyond just treating patients, to educating them to make healthy and sustainable life choices with regard to their dietary habits, lifestyle, and immune system. Based on her integrative, whole-body approach, Claire will provide personalized and effective therapy by diagnosing each patient’s specific imbalance and using traditional acupuncture, consultation, nutrition, and herbs to help achieve physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
